"If you put Agassi and Djokovic in a blender, you'll get Sinner," says Brad Gilbert, former coach of Gauff
Agassi, Roddick, Murray—these are the players who have worked under Brad Gilbert. A former professional player who reached a career-high world No. 4, the 64-year-old later coached the young American tennis sensation, Gauff, in August 2023.
A collaboration that lasted only a year, as he was replaced in September 2024 by Matt Daly, the former coach of Shapovalov. Despite their parting, Gilbert continues to keep a very close eye on the ATP and WTA tours.
Recently asked on the podcast "Served with Andy Roddick," the American discussed the profile of the world No. 1 and reigning US Open champion: Jannik Sinner. According to him, the Italian is a perfect blend of former champion Agassi and the current record holder for Grand Slam titles, Djokovic:
"If you put Andre Agassi and Novak Djokovic in a blender, you'll get Jannik Sinner."
Currently, Gilbert serves as a tennis analyst on the ESPN network. He is also very active on X, where he does not hesitate to share his analyses.
