"I'm going to miss it," says Garcia after playing her final Roland-Garros
Caroline Garcia, paired with Diane Parry in doubles, played her last match at Roland-Garros, losing to the duo Diana Shnaider and Mirra Andreeva.
In the post-match press conference, the Lyon native shared her thoughts: "It was a tough match. It wasn’t easy. We wanted to do better to share the moment with the crowd.
There was a lot of emotion playing this last match at Roland. The crowd was great. There are emotions, and that’s normal. I’ll miss it, but that’s how it is. After all, we don’t play at Roland all year.
I’ve loved playing here every year. I’ll miss it when I see Roland-Garros happening. Turning the page is part of an athlete’s career. These are moments I won’t experience again, but I’ll have others.
A lot has happened over the past two weeks. After the singles, for two days, I wasn’t really emotionally or physically available. I was happy to come back for doubles."
Garcia’s next event will be the Queen’s qualifying rounds.
