Holger Rune had an excellent end to the 2022 season, marked by a title in Stockholm, followed by a final in Basel before defeating Novak Djokovic to win the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000.
During his speech at the trophy ceremony, the Serb paid tribute to his opponent of the day: "Congratulations to you, your team, and your family. You totally deserve your victory and this title, you had a fantastic week.
I'm not happy that you beat me, but I'm happy for you because I like your personality, you are a dedicated person who loves tennis, who puts in many hours of hard work, it has paid off for you.
I'm sure the future looks bright for you and your team, congratulations."
Rune then put his trophy down, and Djokovic joked: "It's a bit heavy, huh?
