"I'm living my childhood dream, even though I feel pressure," says Draper at Queen's

Jack Draper is among the top favorites this week at Queen's. The Brit is playing on a surface he loves and can especially count on the support of the home crowd.
In a press conference, he shared his thoughts: "I haven’t spoken to Murray or Henman, but I know I can rely on their support to handle everything that comes with being British tennis’ hope in these tournaments.
Everyone deals with these situations in their own way, and I have the peace of mind of being surrounded by a fantastic team. I feel good, I have great confidence in my abilities, and I’m happy to be back competing.
I really love playing tournaments at home. My family and friends can come watch me, I get to spend time with them—it’s amazing. It’s a bit strange not staying in a hotel during the competition, but I enjoy it.
In a tennis player’s life, there’s already enough stress and routines to follow without overthinking what people expect from me here in my own country.
I know I’m one of the favorites to achieve big things, and I’m happy about that because I’m living the dream I’ve always had since I was a kid.
Of course, I feel the pressure of playing at home, but I try not to think about it and just keep doing what’s necessary to improve."
Draper will face Alexei Popyrin this Wednesday at Queen's.
