Eliminated by Sabalenka after a tight match in Cincinnati (7-6, 4-6, 7-6), Raducanu once again demonstrated her strong current form. Already at Wimbledon, the British player had shown great resilience against the Belarusian. Asked in the press conference, she expressed pride in the progress made in recent weeks:

"Grass suits me much better, so I’m quite proud to have pushed her on a hard court. She served and returned very well. So far, I’ve mostly done well against players around my ranking, and that’s a lot of confidence for me. The next step is the top."

Her opponent, meanwhile, spoke on the court after the match, joking with the crowd about the many cheers for Raducanu:
