"I'm super happy to play this match," Boisson rejoices before facing Pegula in the Roland-Garros round of 16

Loïs Boisson's fairy tale continues at Roland-Garros. In her first Grand Slam tournament, the world No. 361 confirmed her victories against Elise Mertens and Anhelina Kalinina.
The Frenchwoman dominated her compatriot Elsa Jacquemot after a thrilling three-set battle (6-3, 0-6, 7-5 in 2h22) and advances to the round of 16 against world No. 3 Jessica Pegula. In the press conference, the Dijon native reflected on her match against Jacquemot, won in dramatic fashion after an early knee scare.
"Regarding my knee, everything is fine. I had a little pain, but I know how to manage it. It’s amazing to be in the second week here. First, we’ll try to enjoy this victory today. Tomorrow, we’ll prepare for the match against Pegula. No matter which court, I hope there’ll be a great atmosphere. I’m super happy to play this match.
On the court, I don’t show much—that’s just how I am. It’s how I feel most comfortable. Whether I show my emotions or not, I feed off the crowd. Of course, when there’s one or two big points, you really hear them, and you can’t help but take that energy with you.
We really have time to recover since there’s a day of rest between matches. Nothing changes—recovery is the same, we just do more to feel our best on match day.
The intensity might be higher than in other tournaments—all the girls play well—but we have time to recover. At first, there was a lot of pressure and stress because it’s Roland-Garros.
But in the end, I handle it pretty well, and once I step on the court, I’m relaxed and able to play my game. On match point, I looked at my coach to see where to serve. He told me to serve down the T, I went wide—that was it!" Boisson concluded for Tennis Actu TV.
