In Madrid, Rublev confesses his greatest fear: "Time goes by very quickly, it's very scary".

In Madrid, Rublev confesses his greatest fear: Time goes by very quickly, it's very scary.

Andrey Rublev is back on the winning track in Madrid, having failed to score in recent weeks. Winning back-to-back titles for the first time since Dubai (end of February), the Russian will face Tallon Griekspoor, who defeated Holger Rune in the last 16.

Before playing and beating Davidovich Fokina on Sunday, Andrey Rublev attended a press conference. The world number 8 took the opportunity to talk about his fears, particularly in tennis: "I think everyone has fears, and that's normal. If you try to hide it and say no, that's bullshit. Everyone is nervous, everyone is afraid in life or in sport. [...] Fear has to be your friend. My biggest fear in tennis? I'd have to say the passage of time. Time goes by very quickly, and that's very scary."
