Insolite - Ruud and the controversial outfit
Casper Ruud isn't used to being the talk of the town.
However, when he appeared in all red for his first match of the Olympic tournament, the critics were out in force, particularly from Norway.
Questioned after his inaugural victory (7-5, 6-1 over Taro Daniel), the world number 9 declared: "I didn't design it, I'm happy with what I get. But yes, I did miss the blue."
The situation hadn't really calmed down, but fortunately Ruud's equipment manufacturer reacted effectively.
As a result, the best player in his country's history was able to show up with blue on his outfit in his second round (victory 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 over Vavassori).
