Insolite - Thunderstorms cause power cuts during Montpellier tournament
The ATP 250 Montpellier is played indoors, but the weather can still disrupt the tournament.
During the match between Jesper de Jong and Flavio Cobolli, violent thunderstorms broke out.
This caused a power cut and the hall was plunged into darkness in the middle of the match. Twenty minutes later, a second blackout occurred.
This was something the organizers had not foreseen, and they were reassured that it did not happen during the tribute ceremony for Richard Gasquet, following his defeat by Tallon Griekspoor.
