Insolite - Vekic laments Italy's draw with Croatia
The European Football Championship is definitely on everyone's mind. And Donna Vekic is not about to contradict us.
Taking part in the Bad Homburg tournament in Germany, the Croatian couldn't help but make reference to her side's 1-1 draw with Italy on Monday.
Asked about her qualification for the quarter-finals of the event, following her victory over Alexandrova (6-4, 3-6, 6-3), Vekic said she was happy to be playing tennis and not soccer: "I started playing tennis at the age of 6 and fell in love with it straight away.
In fact, I'm quite happy not to be in soccer. I don't know if you saw, but Croatia suffered a very tough defeat last night (a draw really). It was a long night."
