"Is he the favorite to win the tournament? Of course," Rublev shares his prediction for Roland Garros

Is he the favorite to win the tournament? Of course, Rublev shares his prediction for Roland Garros

Eliminated in the round of 16, Rublev was thoroughly dominated by an utterly unplayable Jannik Sinner. Speaking to the press, the Russian shared his predictions for the 2025 Roland Garros. According to him, there’s no doubt that the Italian’s status makes him the top contender for the title:

"Jannik doesn’t make mistakes and gives you nothing, unless the match is short and you manage to maintain high intensity. Is he the favorite to win the tournament? Of course, he’s the world No. 1. Alcaraz is the second favorite. He also knows how to shorten points, play long rallies, his volleys are incredible, he has great touch, and now he’s serving very well. Physically, he’s very strong and has the qualities of the most special players," he said in an interview reported by Tennis World Italia.

The two players could face each other in the final in Paris, but before that, Sinner must defeat Bublik in the quarterfinals, and then, if he wins, the victor of the clash between Zverev and Djokovic, while Alcaraz will have to overcome world No. 7 Musetti in the semifinals.
