It Was All Worth It: Alcaraz Opens Up About His Childhood and Doubts

In Turin, on the sidelines of the ATP Finals, the world number one opened up. In an interview with "OKDIARIO", Carlos Alcaraz discussed his early years in El Palmar, his childhood dreams, but also his doubts.

When Carlos Alcaraz is asked what he would say to the little boy he once was, he states this: "I would tell him that it was all worth it. That every effort has a reward."

The Spaniard then recalls those years when everything seemed uncertain: the endless journeys, the junior tournaments, the fear of failure.

"When I was a child, there were days when I had doubts. But today, I understand that those moments were part of the journey."

Finally, despite the glory, pressure, and fame, Carlos Alcaraz never forgot where he came from. And his secret to staying grounded? Regularly returning to El Palmar, his hometown.

"I go for a walk, I go to a park, I sit and talk with my friends. It's these little things that allow me to disconnect. That make me feel like the Carlitos from when I was a kid again.

And that's what really gives me the chance to recharge my batteries and regain mental freshness. Obviously, being with my family, all of that is what truly allows me to disconnect and makes me want to get back on the court," concludes Alcaraz.
