It wasn't our day, Pegula speaks after the United States' defeat in the BJK Cup final

Jessica Pegula attended a press conference after the United States' defeat in the Billie Jean King Cup final against Italy. Personally, Pegula was defeated by Jasmine Paolini, while her compatriot Emma Navarro lost to Elisabetta Cocciaretto.

Despite the defeat, the American prefers to take the positives: "We had an incredible week. It wasn't the expected result today. It just wasn't our day.

I think that, at the same time, we really enjoyed the competition together, reaching the final and overcoming many difficulties. Today, we failed.

Overall, I think we want to build on what we learned this week to continue improving.
