"It's a shame to have beaten a Brit," Fonseca reflects on his first victory at Wimbledon

Joao Fonseca played his first main-draw match at Wimbledon this Monday. Facing Jacob Fearnley, the Brazilian won 6-4, 6-1, 7-6.
After the match, he shared how much he loves this tournament and expressed regret over defeating a local player: "At the start of the match, we were both very nervous, just focusing on serves with no rallies.
I worked hard and believed I could play good tennis. I think the key is to work hard, believe, and dream. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to play here.
It means a lot. This is a special tournament for me. It’s been my favorite Grand Slam since childhood. It’s a pleasure to be here. It’s a shame to have beaten a Brit, but a big thank you to all the fans for their support."
In the next round, Fonseca will face Jenson Brooksby.
