"It's never an easy match," Humbert discusses his opponent Sonego after their ninth encounter

Ugo Humbert dominated Lorenzo Sonego for the sixth time in nine encounters in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm.
Humbert confirms he's difficult to beat on indoor hard courts. The Frenchman has now won thirteen of his last fourteen matches under these conditions. In Stockholm, the world number 25 eliminated Matteo Berrettini and then Lorenzo Sonego this Friday (6-7, 6-0, 6-3).
After missing a set point in the first set, the Frenchman reacted perfectly and ultimately turned the match around. This victory now gives him a 6-3 lead against the Italian. In a press conference, the Metz native discussed his match of the day.
"It was supposed to be quite fast here. The balls are very, very slow, very soft, they're quite dead, so it really slows down the game. I think everyone can play well indoors.
Aside from the wind, I don't feel much difference with other surfaces. Since Jérémy (Chardy, his coach) came back, it's been about 4 weeks, 6 weeks now that I've been training regularly, doing the right things, I feel like things are falling into place and as a result, I come onto the court with fewer doubts.
Right now, I'm really happy with my two matches, they were really complete matches. Plus, Lorenzo (Sonego), it was the ninth time we've played each other, he's the player I've faced the most. I know he's still very dangerous, he brings energy, he's intense.
It's never an easy match with him, he knows me well. This time, I felt like he tried to do some things a bit differently than usual," Humbert stated according to comments collected by L'Équipe.
