"It's the match that got me into the top 10": Draper looks back on his semi-final against Alcaraz at Indian Wells

After a brilliant start to the season before an arm injury, Jack Draper reflects on his performances at Indian Wells. In an interview with The Tennis Mentor, the Briton revisits in particular his tense and decisive semi-final against Carlos Alcaraz.

After an excellent first half of the season (title at Indian Wells, final in Madrid, entry into the ATP top 5), Jack Draper was abruptly stopped by a left arm injury.

The Briton ended his season as early as September, but has recently been giving interviews to various media. For The Tennis Mentor, Draper looked back on his victory at Indian Wells and his semi-final win against Carlos Alcaraz:

"It's hard to believe you can win a big tournament when you've never done it before. For me, it's always match by match, I don't project myself. Looking back, my run was tough: I play Fonseca in the first round and many other good players after that.

I knew the semi-final against Alcaraz was a match that could get me into the top 10. I played a very good first set, then I felt my body starting to give way a bit. I was nervous.

Against a player like him, it's hard to feel that and continue to play well. But I was proud to find the necessary resources to get through it. There's a lot of nervousness in tennis. Every match is a separate battle."

Is padel threatening tennis? Inside the revolution shaking up the established order

Born almost by accident in an Acapulco garden, padel has in fifty years become a global phenomenon that both fascinates and worries tennis. Its meteoric rise is already reshaping the landscape of racket sports.

Exhausted but omnipresent stars, ever-longer tournaments and exhibitions that have become a business in their own right: tennis is revealing its deepest contradictions, torn between spectacle and physical survival.

Omnipresent cameras, line judges on the verge of extinction, mistakes that persist nonetheless: technology fascinates as much as it divides. Tennis, at a crossroads, is still searching for its balance between progress and emotion.

"Now, it's the season to make money": Connors slams Alcaraz and the exhibitions organized in December

Jimmy Connors did not mince words when discussing the exhibition matches Carlos Alcaraz will play in December. For the former world number one, these "money-making" matches unnecessarily exhaust players, who then arrive tired at the Australian Open. A very blunt statement that reignites the debate on calendar management and the priorities of tour stars.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
