"I've never seen myself serve so well," Tsitsipas discusses one of his areas of improvement ahead of Wimbledon
Stefanos Tsitsipas is among the players selected to participate in an exhibition at Hurlingham this week. The Greek, who is now working with Goran Ivanisevic to regain confidence, has only played one grass-court tournament before Wimbledon, which was not successful, as the world No. 26 was defeated in the second round in Halle by Alex Michelsen.
At 26, Tsitsipas hopes to do better than last year's second-round exit at the London Grand Slam. After his victory against Frances Tiafoe (7-6, 6-7, 10-7) in a format different from ATP Tour and Grand Slam events, the 2019 ATP Finals winner reflected on one of his areas of improvement—his serve—and hopes to be ready for the London grass.
"There’s nothing you can do to beat Goran’s (Ivanisevic, his coach) serve! I’m trying to get used to it, but today (Tuesday) was a good day. Frances (Tiafoe) is right—I’ve never seen myself serve so well.
So far, I feel like I’m improving on my serve. I hope I can deliver serves just as good at Wimbledon," Tsitsipas said in comments reported by Tennis One App.
