Jabeur is confident: "I know I can come back and win my first Grand Slam".
On Tuesday, Ons Jabeur eliminated world No. 8 Qinwen Zheng (6-4, 6-2) in the 2nd round of the WTA 1000 Doha.
Before facing Sofia Kenin for a place in the quarter-finals, the Tunisian expressed in a press conference her satisfaction at once again being able to beat the world's best players, after a long period of doubt:
"This type of match helps me to get back to my level of a few years ago, it helps me to see that I can fight against players in the Top 10.
I'm feeling really good at the moment, and it gives me a lot of confidence to be able to win matches like this.
This season, I want to be a better version of myself, both on and off the court.
Today, I'm not the same player I was before, but I keep believing in myself and I know I can come back, if I'm lucky, and win a first Grand Slam.
I try not to look back too much, I prefer to stay in the present."
