Jules Marie officially announces the end of his career on the ATP circuit
In recent days, Jules Marie had already given a hint about his future plans. Currently ranked 456th in the world, the 33-year-old Frenchman, also known for his videos on his YouTube channel, had announced that he was putting his professional tennis career on hold for an indefinite period.
This Tuesday, March 4, the player who reached a career-high ranking of 203rd last year ended the suspense and confirmed in a video that he was stopping professional tennis to focus on padel, his new passion.
"Today, I announce the end of the ATP circuit. I am relieved to stop, it was starting to become burdensome for me. It was getting harder and harder physically and mentally.
Going back to the Futures, retraining... I'm not necessarily ready to make the efforts and sacrifices I made in 2022 and 2023, and I don't feel like doing it.
My ranking has dropped over the past six months, I haven't played very well. I must be around 400th or so right now. The ATP circuit ends here for me, it was an incredible experience, but I want to dedicate myself to the padel project," he stated.
