Her 1st Grand Slam title at 21 years old. Incredibly strong mentally, the Americain just beat Muguruza in Final.

Womens tennis is dead! We have yet another NOONE winning grand slam in last 10 years. After Ostapenko, Schiavone, Peneta, Stosur... this is the last step in finaly destroying womens tennis. As all those noones before her, Kenin will also probably desapear after this, making womens tennis borring and not worth watching.

Cocoda exactly what I thinking before I read this, 10 years was what I had in my head. It's pitiful the state of women's tennis. People like One hit Halep.

Just shows how diverse the field is.

A well played tournament for Kenin. She stayed the course she charted for herself. I for one am impressed by her performance. She came up Big at the right times. Though bouncy. And winning on her first go at it is commendable.

Nice win kenin. Congrats!
Sore people can't appreciate things. Wta is just great without you, david and cocoda. You can go away with amelius (as long as they keep their promise).

This was very low quality tennis, especially for a Grand Slam final. The real travesty here is these 2 are going to be paid the same as the men's final participants. The men play longer, at a MUCH higher level, bring more attendees, bring more viewers, bring better sponsors, play longer without the same breaks, arent allowed coaching, and even play with different tennis balls. All under the guise of BJK and the WTA's backward ass view of equality.
What a joke....

What is wrong with this guy, very very sexist grow the hell up!!!

Tennisboss- It isn't sexist to state facts. It is sexist, however, to pay one sex the same as the other under the guise of equality when the facts show otherwise as it relates to length of play, quality of play, viewership, attendees, breaks, coaching, and different tennis balls. You or anyone may call it equal, but the WTA is no closer to the ATP than the WNBA is to the NBA.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
