Keys before facing Swiatek in Madrid: "The fact that I'm at my best is already a bonus for me"

Defeating Donna Vekic (6-2, 6-3), Madison Keys will play in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Madrid, where she will meet Iga Swiatek.
Three months after their high-level semifinal at the Australian Open, which the American won after saving a match point, the two women will meet again for a spot in the semifinals in Spain. The Pole leads 4 wins to 2, but Keys intends to give it her all this Wednesday.
"I think it's obvious you look at the matches you've won and understand why you won them. Then you look at the ones you've lost and try to figure out what you did wrong or what she did very well, and then you try to come up with a game plan.
I think it's obviously a bit different when you're on a surface she likes and where she does very well. It's important to take that into account and go a bit further by trying to understand how you can elevate your game a little more, because I think that will be necessary against Iga.
To be honest, I've never liked having a ranking goal. I've really struggled not to be obsessed with wins and losses. The fact that I'm at my best level in my career is already a bonus for me.
It's definitely not something I thought I would see happening later in my life. So I've decided to enjoy it," said Keys, before taking the court against the world number 2 and defending champion of this Madrid tournament, for the Mutua Madrid Open media.
