Karen Khachanov really needed it.

Plunged into a spiral of poor results since the French Open, he finally achieved a significant victory on Sunday, taming Francisco Cerundolo (7-6, 7-6) in two tight sets.

Buoyed by his heavier strokes and efficient serve (83% of points won on first serve), the Russian managed the important moments perfectly to win.

Reassuring, he will probably have the opportunity to test himself against one of the world's best players in the quarters.

He will face the winner of the match between Alcaraz and Griekspoor.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.
