Sebastian Korda secured his spot in the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters 1000 yesterday by defeating Gaël Monfils in a match marked by a lengthy rain delay.
However, before the rain arrived, he had to call for a physio on the court (at 4-3 in the third set) due to pain in his right wrist.
Despite the win, he expressed doubts about being 100% fit against Novak Djokovic this Wednesday, as reported by Tennis365:
"The wrist is quite painful right now, but we’ll see how it progresses. We’ll do some exercises with my physio. I was pessimistic after the injury. I had to refocus and try to stay positive on the court."
As a precaution, Korda withdrew from the doubles quarterfinal he was scheduled to play with Jordan Thompson.
