Krejcikova beats Rybakina to join Paolini in the Wimbledon final!
Barbora Krejcikova has just created a sensation on Wimbledon's Centre Court, beating Elena Rybakina to join Jasmine Paolini in the final. Faced with the world no. 4 and winner of the 2022 edition, she managed to turn the tables to win in just over two hours and 3 sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
The two players had opposite trajectories in this match. Initially struggling, the Czech gradually raised her game to finish by playing her very best tennis. The Kazakh, on the other hand, gradually collapsed, losing effectiveness and making too many mistakes. She hit 38 winners, but only half of them (19) in the 2nd and 3rd sets combined. She also made 37 unforced errors throughout the match.
Three years after surprisingly winning the French Open, Krejcikova is back in the Grand Slam final. She will face Paolini, and Wimbledon will have a new champion this year.
