Krejcikova: "Joy, relief and pride. It's incredible!"
Barbora Krejcikova produced an enormous performance to beat Elena Rybakina and qualify for the final of this Wimbledon 2024. The Czech herself couldn't believe it after the match. She seemed to be in shock at what she had just achieved, both in terms of her level of tennis and her mental toughness.
Barbora Krejcikova: "It's incredible. It's very hard to explain what I'm feeling right now. A lot of joy, a lot of emotion, a lot of relief too. And I'm just super proud... so proud of my game and my fighting spirit today.
I don't know how I turned it around. I don't know how I did it. I was down 4-0, I was just happy to win my first game. I just tried to fight on every ball.
Then, in the middle of the 2nd set, when I broke her, I felt I'd found my momentum. I started to get 'in the zone' and... I didn't want to leave that zone."
