Kyrgios on Djokovic: "I hate playing his games".
Nick Kyrgios will finally get his taste for completion back, as he makes his comeback in early 2025.
That said, the Australian has had the opportunity, during his long convalescence, to try his hand at the role of tennis commentator and analyst.
Reflecting on this experience, he confided that commenting on Djokovic's matches, particularly in the first week of a Major, wasn't really his favourite thing: "I've commented on a lot of Novak's matches and he frustrates me to no end because I hate doing his matches at the start of Grand Slam tournaments. He plays with his food (i.e. his opponent) for four hours.
I'm thinking I could have been at the hotel an hour and a half ago when he's leading 2 sets 0. Then he loses the third set and starts complaining, then he goes to the locker room, and there's a 7-6 in the fourth set and I'm thinking 'man, do you like keeping me here', because he knows I'm here, and he starts losing his concentration. He frustrates me to no end, I hate doing Novak's matches."
