Learner Tien, the American tennis genius according to Agassi

André Agassi, a monument of world tennis and an eight-time Grand Slam winner, gave his perspective on his compatriot Learner Tien. At only 19 years old, this young player is climbing the ATP rankings at an incredible speed (currently world No. 38).

In an interview with AFP, Agassi stated the following:

"He has learned the game phenomenally. He is incredibly gifted, not only in his play but also from a mental standpoint. He has to overcome some physical limitations compared to other players, in terms of height and strength, but he is still very young. When I look at him from the perspective of his performance as a tennis player, he is one of the few players for whom I think: 'I wouldn't know how I could help him improve, he already does everything well.'"

As a reminder, Learner Tien is having a more than promising year in 2025: a quarterfinalist in Australia, Toronto, and Shanghai, he recently reached the final of the ATP 500 in Beijing.
