Lehecka, winner over Alcaraz in Doha: "I wanted to push him to the limit".

Jiri Lehecka scored the first victory of his career against a Top 3 player on Thursday, beating Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of the Doha tournament.

The Czech, who came within two games of defeat in the third set, expressed his satisfaction at coming through in the post-match on-court interview:

"The match, right from the start, had a lot of twists and turns. To win a match like that against an opponent of this level is an achievement.

I believed in myself. I knew I had the level to produce this kind of tennis.

The most important thing was that I kept believing in my game. Even though I made mistakes in the first set, I kept on wanting to play aggressively, to play my game.
