Linette shares the keys to her victory against Gauff: "I was brave"
Coco Gauff was the heavy favorite against Magda Linette at the WTA 1000 in Miami. Yet it was the Polish player who triumphed with a score of 6-4, 6-4.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Linette revealed her strategy for defeating Gauff: "I was brave, and I was able to back it up with my strong serves because she’s really tough.
Even when you break her, she stays very solid—she keeps fighting no matter what.
For me, it was crucial to maintain the pressure, to make sure she felt it, so I had to return well to achieve that."
Linette will face Jasmine Paolini this Tuesday in Miami.
