Mannarino, Royer, Herbert, and Blanchet Enter the Main Draw in Toronto
The qualifying rounds for the Toronto Masters 1000 took place on Saturday, with just one round needed to secure a spot in the main draw.
Six French players were in contention, and four of them managed to secure their place in the tournament.
Adrian Mannarino defeated Juan Carlos Manuel Aguilar (6-3, 6-1), Valentin Royer dominated Alvin Nicholas Tudorica (6-2, 6-3), Pierre-Hugues Herbert beat Li Tu (6-3, 3-6, 6-3), and Ugo Blanchet prevailed against Chun Hsin Tseng (6-4, 7-5).
However, Terence Atmane and Kyrian Jacquet were sent packing, losing to Facundo Bagnis (6-4, 6-4) and Juan Pablo Ficovich (6-2, 4-6, 6-4), respectively—two players who are not typically strong on hard courts.
