Many are afraid of the consequences if they speak openly," says Kokkinakis

Thanasi Kokkinakis is currently injured, and his last singles match dates back to his loss against Jack Draper at the Australian Open in January.
While he will be present at Roland-Garros as a commentator, he expressed his desire to learn more about players and how they hesitate to do so due to potential repercussions.
"In tennis, everything is very reserved—you can’t say too much. I’d love to know how other players live off the court. Is everything tennis-focused for them, or do they enjoy life and find balance?
What they do in their free time is an interesting topic, not just standard answers like, ‘I sleep, eat well, and prepare for my next training session.’
I wouldn’t mind if players opened up more. I don’t think it’s about the journalists.
It’s more about the players themselves being willing to be honest, because many fear the possible consequences if they say something truthfully and openly.
