Marta Kostyuk withdraws from the WTA 500 in Stuttgart
Marta Kostyuk announced on her social media that she is withdrawing from the WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart, which takes place this week (April 14–20).
"Unfortunately, the injury I sustained during my last match at the Billie Jean King Cup has not yet healed and does not allow me to compete in Stuttgart this year."
Ukraine qualified this weekend for the BJK Cup Final 8 for the very first time in its history. As for Marta Kostyuk, she lost in straight sets to Céline Naef (6-4, 7-6).
On the WTA Tour, she was coming off a loss in the Miami Round of 16 to Pegula (6-2, 6-3).
