The six French players entered directly into the main draw of the Paris Masters 1000 have a tough first round.

Richard Gasquet, present at the ceremony, will start his final tournament at Paris-Bercy against Flavio Cobolli.

While he plays a semi-final in Basel tomorrow against Ben Shelton, Arthur Fils begins his week against veteran Marin Cilic.

Arthur Rinderknech, who received a last-minute invitation following the withdrawal of Gaël Monfils, will have to spring a surprise against Tomas Machac, a quarter-finalist this week in Vienna.

Finally, there are three promising Franco-American duels: Humbert - Nakashima, Mannarino - Paul and Mpetshi Perricard - Tiafoe.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.
