Medvedev assesses his season: "In terms of my objectives, it's a zero out of ten".

Eliminated from the Masters after losing to Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev played a title-less 2024 season, the first in his career since 2017.
The Russian's last title came over a year ago, at the Rome Masters 1000 in 2023. And unsurprisingly tonight, he didn't stand a chance against Sinner, an opponent who has become his bête noire this year.
He expressed his feelings on his season in a press conference: "There are several aspects. In terms of my objectives, it's a zero out of ten. I'll probably finish the year ranked 4th in the world, unless Taylor Fritz pulls off a surprise. I haven't really played well this season.
Jannik is number one and he's proved it on several occasions. But I'm number 4 in the world and I'm very proud of that, because I struggled a lot at the end of the season."
Before going into a little more detail about the reasons for his results: "Every training session was difficult. A lot of matches too.
I often had the feeling that I could push my opponents to the limit and win.
Now, I have to win in three sets, tie-break or break at the end of the sets. I'd say this season has been a 6.5/10 with a lot of hard work and good memories."
