Medvedev compares Fonseca and Tien: "If there were no serve in tennis, I don't see anyone who could beat Tien easily"
In comments relayed by Alena Mayorova, Daniil Medvedev compared Joao Fonseca and Learner Tien, two rising tennis stars who finished the 2025 season in the Top 30.
For the Russian, the American's serve is his main weakness: "I don't think Tien is better than Fonseca, far from it; they are two very good tennis players. Fonseca has slightly higher potential due to his game and the current state of tennis.
Tien, a complete player
If there were no serve in tennis, even though, of course, that will never happen, then, aside from Sinner and Alcaraz, I don't see anyone who could beat him easily. He is a phenomenal player, with excellent court control. I can't say he has a spectacular shot, but he plays wonderfully well."
