Medvedev could see himself as a coach: "I could do it".

Le 28/09/2024 à 10h32 par Elio Valotto
Medvedev could see himself as a coach: I could do it.

Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Gaël Monfils in his opening match in Beijing, also spoke about his future after finishing his professional tennis career.

Far from wanting to quit tennis, he explained that he was not closed to the idea of becoming a coach: "I think I could do it. As I said, I love life on the circuit.

If I were a coach, I probably wouldn't travel 40 weeks a year like I do now, I'd travel a bit less, but I could do it.

I don't know if I'd be a good coach, but I could try.

At the Laver Cup (last weekend in Berlin), we're in a team tournament, everyone's trying to help each other.

For me, it's complicated to give my opinion to a top player, because I'm a bit shy.

When Sascha (Zverev) was playing, I saw things that made me dare to give him my opinion. And it worked.

On the other hand, I lost both my matches, and I was the only one not to give the team a single point.

I told myself that if at least my advice worked, I was doing something good for the team, it was a funny feeling."
