Opposé à la surprise Borges, tombeur de Dimitrov au 3e tour et à nouveau très bon, le Russe s'est imposé en 3h07 et 4 sets. Il aurait même pu finir en 3 sets sans un gros trou d'air de 5 jeux alors qu'il menait 5/2 dans la 3e manche.
