Daniil Medvedev came through in three sets against Brandon Nakashima in the Madrid round of 16. Interviewed after the match, he shared his thoughts on the playing conditions: "The ball was bouncing so high that it was very hard to control.
I think it affected both of us, because we made a lot of unforced errors.
I was really angry at the end of the first set because I wasn’t in control of what I was doing on the court, but I felt like I wasn’t far from winning the games, and then the match.
So I knew I had to hang in there, play a little better, and that’s what I did."
In the quarterfinals, Medvedev will face Casper Ruud, who defeated Taylor Fritz.
