Mensik: "All former Next Gen ATP Finals winners inspire me".

Mensik: All former Next Gen ATP Finals winners inspire me.

The Next Gen ATP Finals begin on December 18, and Jakub Mensik is establishing himself as one of the players capable of going all the way in this 2024 edition.

The 19-year-old Czech revealed himself to the public this season by reaching his first final on the circuit in Doha in February.

In October, he reached his highest ranking (48th). In an interview with the official ATP website, Mensik spoke about the new generation and the Next Gen ATP Finals.

"The new generation is on the march. Whether it's Sinner, Alcaraz and all these young players, I've seen that they've raised their level, which has enabled them to climb the ATP rankings.

The game is always evolving. The older players who have played in the Next Gen ATP Finals, the other young players and myself, we all bring something new to the table," he says.

"All the former winners inspire me. As we can see now, the Next Gen ATP Finals is a big tournament.

Most of those who have won this trophy are already well established on the main circuit.

Jannik Sinner was one of the first to triumph, he was my age when he lifted the trophy here, and today he's the best player in the world.

It's also good to see new players trying to bring something fresh to tennis."
