Mikael Ymer is back with a new title

Mikael Ymer is back with a new title

Mikael Ymer hadn't been seen in competition since June 2023, after his third-round Wimbledon loss to Daniel Elahi Galan.

On July 18, the Court of Arbitration for Sport decided to suspend him for 18 months for missing three doping tests between April and November 2021.

He subsequently announced his retirement following this suspension. However, in April 2024, he reversed his decision, declaring, "Retirement was boring, see you in 8 months."

It was therefore in January 2025 that Ymer made his return to the $25,000 Esch-sur-Alzette tournament, which he won in the process, beating Nicolai Budkov Kjaer in the final.
