Monnet Edges Out Martic, Bartashevich Falls to Costoulas at Roland Garros

Carole Monnet, a wild-card entry at Roland Garros, narrowly defeated Petra Martic. After losing the first set 6-2, the Frenchwoman regrouped to win the second set despite being broken early.

The final set was interrupted by a medical timeout for Monnet, who had to leave the court while trailing.

Upon her return, Monnet managed to claw her way back and ultimately triumphed 2-6, 7-5, 7-5. In the next round, she will face either Laura Pigossi or Fiona Ferro.

Unfortunately for Yara Bartashevich, her match followed a different script. The French player lost to Sofia Costoulas in 1 hour and 35 minutes, with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-1.
