Tradition, prestige, and expertise: line judges will continue to be part of the show at Roland-Garros, while the rest of the circuit automates with hawk-eye.
Line judges will survive one more year at Roland-Garros. While they have been replaced by hawk-eye on ATP and WTA tournaments as well as the three other Grand Slams (Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open), the French tournament is keeping its traditions.
The French Tennis Federation (FFT) has announced that they will be present for the 2026 edition of the Porte d’Auteuil tournament.
"The FFT will continue to highlight the excellence of French officiating, recognized worldwide, which fully satisfies the tournament's organization," can be read in the statement sent to the media.
