Moretton savors French success in Croatia: "We are building something"

France secured a decisive victory in Croatia, qualifying for the Davis Cup Final 8. Thanks to standout performances from Corentin Moutet and Arthur Rinderknech, Les Bleus will head to Bologna, Italy, at the end of the year with confidence.
Focused throughout the weekend in Osijek, Paul-Henri Mathieu's French team prevailed in Croatia with a 3-1 victory, including two singles wins by Corentin Moutet and another by Arthur Rinderknech.
Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation, reflected on France's qualification and looked ahead to the final phase of the 2025 edition in Bologna two months from now.
"I am proud of our players and happy with this victory. But above all, what stands out to me from this match is the harmony. The players set the pace, but you can feel a real family spirit.
Corentin (Moutet) is an extrovert, we know that. What he brought to the team this week is what you dream of as a Federation President. He brings momentum. We have a very strong team.
I’m thinking of Arthur (Fils) and Ugo (Humbert) who were there in Orléans during the first round. We are building something. The work of Paul-Henri Mathieu, the staff, and Ivan Ljubicic (the high-performance director) is remarkable.
I believe we have a team capable of winning the Davis Cup. I don’t know if it will be this year, but we have the ability," he stated in recent hours on the official FFT website.
