Mpetshi Perricard Edges Through in Stuttgart Debut

After a tough clay-court season on the main tour, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard returns to grass, where his serve and aggressive game should thrive.

In his first-round match in Stuttgart, the Frenchman struggled against world No. 74 Roman Safiullin. Despite firing 26 aces and 45 winners, Mpetshi Perricard faced 17 break points on his serve. He ultimately prevailed in three sets, 7-6, 3-6, 7-5.

Next, he will face Félix Auger-Aliassime for a spot in the tournament’s quarterfinals.
