Mpetshi Perricard qualifies for the 3rd round of Indian Wells after Marozsan's withdrawal
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has qualified for the 3rd round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000 after benefiting from Fabian Marozsan's withdrawal (6-4, ret.)
In his debut at the Californian tournament, the Frenchman relied on his serve (10 aces) and secured the break at the end of the first set to take control.
The Hungarian, visibly troubled by an ankle injury, chose to retire after losing the first set.
In the next round, Mpetshi Perricard will face Alexander Zverev or Tallon Griekspoor.
