Musetti denies Zverev an Olympic double!

Musetti denies Zverev an Olympic double!

Lorenzo Musetti is in the form of his life.

After an outstanding grass-court season, which saw him reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon, the Italian is back in top form on Paris clay.

A brilliant player, the current world number 16 has just knocked out reigning Olympic champion Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals. Imperial on serve, incisive on return and, above all, perfectly at ease in the rallies, Musetti left little space for a dominated German (7-5, 7-5).

Managing the important moments very well, as in his last service game, which ended goalless, the gifted 22-year-old continued his idyllic run. Having already beaten Monfils on home soil (6-1, 6-4), Navone, a specialist on ochre (7-6, 6-3) and Fritz, ranked 12th in the world, he seems quite simply untouchable.

For a place in the final of these Games, he will have to overcome the winner of the match between Djokovic and Tsitsipas, scheduled for tonight, not before 7pm.
