Musetti dominates Goffin and advances to the third round at the US Open

In their fourth tour-level meeting, Musetti and Goffin faced off in the second round of the US Open. While the Italian appeared to be the favorite on paper, some uncertainties lingered due to his recent results on hard courts.
Nevertheless, the 23-year-old did not falter, securing victory in just two hours with a score of 6-4, 6-0, 6-2. Playing offensively (27 winners), he also proved more efficient than his opponent of the day (7/12 break points converted compared to 2/11).
As the 10th seed, Musetti confirmed his status and, in the process, claimed his 30th Grand Slam win. Additionally, he had not won two consecutive matches since Roland-Garros last May.
He will attempt to reach the round of 16 at Flushing Meadows for the first time against the winner of Cobolli-Brooksby.
