US Open ATP: Zverev and de Minaur Advance, Tsitsipas Falls in 5 Sets
In the overnight session from Thursday to Friday, the final matches of the second round of the US Open concluded. On the men's side, Alexander Zverev qualified with relative ease against Jacob Fearnley with a score of 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
In the next round, he will face Felix Auger-Aliassime, who defeated Roman Safiullin. It's the end of the road for Stefanos Tsitsipas. Facing Daniel Altmaier, the Greek player was leading 2 sets to 1 and even had a match point on his opponent's serve in the decisive set.
He ultimately lost 7-6, 1-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. A minor altercation occurred between the two players during the handshake, with Tsitsipas criticizing Altmaier for an underhand serve in the 4th set.
As for Alex de Minaur, he held his ground against Shintaro Mochizuki and won 6-2, 6-4, 6-2, and will face Altmaier in the third round.
