"The next time, don't ask yourself why I'm shooting at you," the icy handshake between Tsitsipas and Altmaier
Stefanos Tsitsipas lost in the second round of the US Open to Daniel Altmaier in five sets. Unhappy about receiving some underhand serves in the fourth set, the Greek made it known to the German during their handshake.
Tsitsipas told him: "The next time, don't ask yourself why I'm shooting at you. I'm just telling you that if you do underhand serves..."
Altmaier did not wish to engage in this debate and then walked away from the Greek to go shake the chair umpire's hand and then celebrate his victory with the crowd.
