Musetti effusive about Sinner: "He is a real winning machine"

Lorenzo Musetti, present in the ATP ranking top 10, discussed the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who form the new "Big 2" on the tour.

Having the best season of his career, Lorenzo Musetti competed in the ATP Finals in Turin last week and was in the running for a semi-final qualification until the very end. Although he was ultimately eliminated in the group stage, the Italian faced Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner this year. The two best players in the world, who have consistently shown their superiority over the rest of the tour in Grand Slams, are impressive in their consistency. The world number 8 discussed the strength of the two players.

"This year, I have made progress to get closer to their level, but for now, Jannik (Sinner) and Carlos (Alcaraz) are a step ahead of everyone. They deserve it and demonstrate their strength every time. What is beautiful about their rivalry is that they are players with opposite playing styles. Sinner is a Djokovic 2.0, more modern, he hits harder, he is more aggressive.

Alcaraz is more talented and more artistic, and as an artist, his highs and lows are appreciated. He can produce incredible tennis, but he can be less effective than Jannik, who is a real winning machine from morning to night. Sinner has very little chance of losing to a lower-level opponent. Alcaraz, on the other hand, can sometimes lose, as we saw in Paris against Cameron Norrie," Musetti stated to Tennis World Italia.
